11919 attacks during the war, or 26 per day. General Staff releases data on missile and drone attacks

According to our General Staff, since the beginning of the war and until August 29, 2024, Russia has launched 23,624 missiles and long-range drones at Ukraine. Of these, 11,919 hit our territory and exploded. The remaining 11,705 were shot down, but sometimes there is also damage from the debris. On average, Russia makes 26 launches every day, half of which are guaranteed arrivals.

The first place in terms of the number of launches is occupied by Shahed and Lancet UAVs — 13,315 units. The General Staff has combined them into one category, but the enemy hits deep into the rear with Shaheds, and the Lancets are used to hit the military on the front line. Most Shaheds are shot down, but Lancets are challenging to shoot down, and they are defended against by either pulling a metal net over the target or shooting them down with small arms or shotguns on the approach.

As for missiles, the enemy is firing mostly S-300 and S-400. Their main purpose is to shoot down airplanes, but there is also a mode to hit ground targets. In this case, the S-300/400 is not accurate, but it takes very little time from launch to arrival, and they are practically never shot down. Russia has a huge arsenal of these missiles, and they do not save them.

Since the range is not long, they are used to terrorize frontline and border cities and to strike at units and logistics hubs located near the front.

In the graph below, each point corresponds to one hit.
